The machine symbolized the impact of disruptive forces like creativity, innovation, and technology. Variable weights represented momentum, while lightweight, flexible arms highlighted the agility businesses need to adapt to change. The machine’s movement, driven by two arms—one representing change, the other operational excellence—captured the balance needed for successful business operations.

They approached us to develop a subscription and CRM platform, and we decided to challenge the core nature of franchising—repetition—by introducing a concept of disruption.

 

Inspired by a child’s drawing toy, a harmonograph, we set out to create a life-size drawing machine. Our process began with researching physics and building a simulation. This led to 3D designing the machine, selecting materials, and constructing the actual device. The journey involved numerous iterations, each adjustment strengthening the analogy between franchising and disruption.

Additionally, the dual effort required to set the machine in motion correlated with the symbiotic relationship between a business and its bank, emphasizing how collaboration can accelerate growth. This interplay resulted in a unique, ever-evolving pattern, reflecting how disruption can create new possibilities.

The resulting machine became the foundation of our UX/UI design. It resonated so well with FNB’s vision that the subscription platform became oversubscribed within the first day, demonstrating the campaign’s success and the power of combining innovation with strategic design.

We designed a serene, minimalist UX/UI for De Nieuwegeinse Uitvaart, reflecting the peaceful nature of water-based farewells. The design uses fluid transitions, calming colors, and intuitive navigation, honoring the brand’s elegant identity and creating an emotional connection.
